BBJ Group is a growing environmental consulting and engineering firm seeking an experienced Senior Air Permitting Engineer/Specialist to join our team.  We expect this will be a great growth opportunity for those looking to take the next step in their careers in solving challenging environmental matters.

General activities will include: 

  • Develop air permit applications for various industry sectors
  • Perform air pollutant emission rate calculations for air permitting, annual emission inventory reporting, and other licensing and reporting
  • Manage dispersion modeling projects
  • Managesustainability reporting projects for clients
  • Provide in-depth client support and project management 

What kinds of projects can I expect to work on?

  • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments;
  • RCRA and CERCLA Site Investigation and Remediation;
  • Site investigation and closure;
  • Vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation; and
  • Compliance Audits, Permitting and Planning.

 Job Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, or similar. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing CEQA and NEPA compliance programs and preparing high-quality CEQA and NEPA documents. Previous consulting experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory frameworks (RCRA, CERCLA, NEPA, NRDA, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
